Frequently Asked Questions
Some of the more commonly asked questions and answers.
What are the mandatory evaluations for?
- The evaluations serve two purposes. One, they are the registration dates when the kids are sized for jerseys and confirmed to be playing. Two, they serve for us to evaluate the skill level of each child to better provide even, fair teams. It is not a try-out. Every child in Upward is a winner and will make a team.
What does the registration fee provide?
- The registration fee will include the following items: Upward reversible jersey, socks, water bottle, car magnet, poster, and an end of season award.
My child has never played soccer. Is this ok?
- Absolutely! Children of any skill level (Ages 4-12) can participate, succeed, and learn at a pace that suits their needs.
What attire does my child need to wear to participate?
- Cleats (soccer) are encouraged, especially for the older ages. Shin guards are mandatory for your child's safety. Both these items can be purchased at any local retail store, or you can check out the Upward recycling program items, that are free for the taking.
Are all games and practices at Fletcher?
- Yes. All games and practices are located behind Fletcher Memorial Baptist Church. (Get Directions)
What times are practices?
- Practices are at either 5:30 or 6:30 one night a week on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.. Typically the younger kids are in the early slot, older kids in the later. Family members all practice on the same night when possible, and you can denote at registration one night that you cannot practice.
